报告摘要:

I will present recent and ongoing work from the Thywissen group at the University of Toronto on a strongly interacting ultracold 40K Fermi gas. In particular, I will briefly introduce our recently published dimer-projection technique for rapidly measuring pair correlations on the Fermi timescale. This technique enables us to study fast dissipation dynamics, including contact correlations, which quantify how pair formation responds to driven changes in interaction strength via scattering length modulation. These correlations connect to bulk viscosity and equilibration dynamics even at unitarity where bulk viscosity vanishes due to scale invariance. Looking ahead, I will discuss how these measurements motivate our interest in hydrodynamic attractors in unitary Fermi gases.

报告人简介:

I am a second-year PhD student in the Thywissen group at the University of Toronto, where I study many-body physics of ultracold Fermi gases. My current research focuses on dynamical measurements of short-range correlations in strongly interacting Fermi systems. I completed my BASc in Engineering Physics at Toronto in 2024, during which I worked on quantum process tomography with photonic circuits in the Steinberg group and nitrogen-vanacy magnetometry at McGill University.
